Message from the VP of Symposia
As an IEEE Society, UFFC-S exists to advance the theory and practice of ultrasonics, ferroelectrics, and frequency control. A key part of our activity is to promote close cooperation and exchange of relevant technical information amongst our members and with other scientific and engineering communities.
One of the ways this is realized is through the organization of symposia. Established events running as annual series are the International Ultrasonics Symposium (IUS), the International Symposium on the Applications of Ferroelectrics (ISAF), and the International Frequency Control Symposium (IFCS).
We often partner with other societies at these meetings and we support and sponsor regional meetings too, such as the Latin America Ultrasonics Symposium (LAUS) and the Symposium on Piezoelectricity, Acoustic Waves, and Device Applications (SPAWDA) which takes place in China.
Our goals for the future are to continue to grow our established symposia, to expand our support and sponsorship of appropriate local meetings in different regions of the world, and to innovate in the format, organization and records of all these meetings so that they can be accessed as easily and widely as possible.

UFFC-S Flagship Symposia
The IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control Society sponsors three international symposia: The International Ultrasonics Symposium (IUS), the International Symposium on the Application of Ferroelectrics (ISAF), and the International Frequency Control Symposium (IFCS).
International Ultrasonics Symposium (IUS)
IUS aims to bring together more closely the ultrasonics communities around the world with the ultrasonics industry.
International Symposium on the Applications of Ferroelectrics (ISAF)
ISAF aims to bring together leaders from academia, national laboratories and industrial research and development sectors. The conference will cover the most recent advancements in the science and technology of ferroelectrics, electroceramics, thin films, dielectric materials and their applications.
International Frequency Control Symposium (IFCS)
IFCS aims to highlight manufacturing methods and technologies that realize emerging products in MEMS resonator-based devices, quartz micro-clocks, and advanced atomic frequency standards.

Other UFFC-S Sponsored Events
IEEE UFFC also sponsors the following events:
Symposium on Piezoelectricity, Acoustic Waves, and Device Applications (SPAWDA)
The in-depth study of piezoelectric theory and sound wave theory provides unprecedented opportunities and solid foundation for the development of various types of sound device technology, and also creates new opportunities for academic exchange and interaction with the fast-growing piezoelectric parts industry.
IEEE Latin America Ultrasonics Symposium (LAUS)
The IEEE Latin America Ultrasonics Symposium aims to reinforce existing networks and to promote emerging opportunities to the ultrasonics engineering community in Latin America in connection with the rest of the world.
The Symposia Committee is responsible for developing and maintaining archival information about the conduct and procedures used in Society symposia, including an assessment of lessons learned and best practices, and for collecting and archiving statistical data from each of the symposia sponsored by the UFFC-S.
