Ekkehard Peik is head of the Department Time and Frequency, Director and Professor at PTB, Germany's national metrology institute. His scientific work is in the fields of atomic physics and laser spectroscopy, atomic clocks, metrology of time and frequency, and tests of fundamental principles of physics with atomic clocks. He has been co-chair of the technical program committee for EFTF-IFCS in 2009, general co-chair in 2015 and since 2020 is serving in UFFC-S as Vice President for Frequency Control.
