The IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control (UFFC) Society is an organization, within the framework of the IEEE, of members with principal professional interest in ultrasonics, ferroelectrics, and frequency control. The scope of interest of the UFFC Society shall include the theory, technology, materials, and applications relating to:

  1. the generation, transmission, and detection of mechanical waves and vibrations and their
  2. interactions with other phenomena;
  3. medical ultrasound, including hyperthermia, bioeffects, tissue characterization, and imaging;
  4. ferroelectric, piezoelectric, and piezomagnetic materials, including crystals, polycrystalline solids,
  5. films, polymers, and composites;
  6. frequency control, timing, and time distribution, including crystal oscillators and other means of classical frequency control, and atomic, molecular, and laser frequency control standards.
  7. Areas of interest range from fundamental studies to the design and/or applications of devices and systems within the general scope defined above. All members of the IEEE are eligible for membership in the Society and will receive the IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control (TUFFC) upon payment of the annual Society membership fee.

The articles in this journal are peer-reviewed in accordance with the requirements set forth in the IEEE PSPB Operations Manual (sections 8.2.1.C & 8.2.2.A). Each published article was reviewed by a minimum of two independent reviewers using a single-blind peer-review process, where the identities of the reviewers are not known to the authors, but the reviewers know the identities of the authors. Articles will be screened for plagiarism before acceptance.

Corresponding authors from low-income countries are eligible for waived or reduced open access APCs.
