Distinguished Lecturer Award

Body

The Distinguished Lecturer Program is an important feature of the UFFC Society. Distinguished Lecturers are appointed and confirmed by the AdCom to serve an 18-month period. The Distinguished Lecturer is selected not only because of personal stature and contribution to a field, but also because of broad knowledge of the field.

Award Program Overview

The Distinguished Lecturer Award is funded by the IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control Society, and was first presented in 1980.  A certificate and reimbursement for an international lecture tour is awarded to a member of IEEE and UFFC, who is a prominent contributor in the field of Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, or Frequency Control.

Basis for judging:

  • Good speaking style.
  • Prominent contributor to topic of lecture.  Lecture must be of current interest to IEEE audience.
  • Willingness to commit significant time and energy to preparation/travel/lectures.

Each lecturer presents between 20 and 40 lectures all over the world at institutions and places of interest to them and their research. Groups desiring to invite a lecturer should either contact the lecturer directly or contact us.
