Call for Volunteers: Two New Vice President Positions

The IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control Society (UFFC) is excited to announce two new volunteer leadership opportunities. These roles offer passionate individuals the chance to make a lasting impact on the Society by promoting diversity, inclusion, and education.


Vice President of Community, Connection, & Diversity

Are you passionate about fostering a connected and inclusive professional environment? The UFFC is seeking a dedicated individual to serve as the Vice President of Community, Connection, & Diversity. In this role, you will chair the Community, Connection, & Diversity Committee (CCDC), leading efforts to ensure that all UFFC members feel included and valued.

As Chair of the CCDC, your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Women in Engineering, Industry Engagement, Volunteer Engagement, and other key committees.
  • Promoting collaboration across these groups to align their initiatives toward common goals.
  • Leading engagement efforts to improve the experience of diverse members within the Society.

Qualifications: Leadership experience in diversity and inclusion, strong organizational skills, and a passion for fostering a sense of belonging are key to this role.


Vice President of Education

The UFFC is also seeking a visionary leader to serve as Vice President of Education, a role that will spearhead the Society’s educational programs and initiatives. As Chair of the Education Committee, you will work with representatives from UFFC’s three technical areas, as well as the Chairs of the Seasonal Schools and History Committees, to drive learning opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Promoting the Society’s educational programs, webinars, and high-quality tutorial papers for UFFC conferences and publications.
  • Overseeing the organization of three Seasonal Schools annually, focused on advancing expertise in each technical area.
  • Managing the Education section of the UFFC website to ensure it remains a valuable resource.

Qualifications: Strong leadership, experience in educational program management, and a passion for advancing learning within the UFFC community.
