Meet the Newest IEEE UFFC Student Chapters
IEEE UFFC-S student chapters encourage students to network and to develop academic excellence in UFFC-related fields. Here's more about student branches that have recently formed.
IEEE UFFC-S Student Chapter at University of Texas at San Antonio – USA.
[mks_col] [mks_one_third]Formed in November 2016.[/mks_one_third] [mks_two_thirds]Both Dr. Amar Bhalla and Dr. Ruyan Guo advise graduate and undergraduate student members interested in novel research and networking opportunities. Student Chapter members are currently performing research in areas such as millimeter wave applications, piezoelectric energy harvesting, 3D printing of electronic and magnetic materials, and multiferroic and magnetoelectric materials and devices.[/mks_two_thirds] [/mks_col]
IEEE UFFC-S Student Chapter at Hong Kong Polytechnic University - China.
[mks_col] [mks_one_third]Formed in January 2016.[/mks_one_third] [mks_two_thirds]Professor Yongping Zheng and Professor Lei Sun provide a professional platform to students with backgrounds in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, applied physics and mechanical engineering. Visits to local institutions or industries and on-line communication enhance the academic experience and networking of student chapter members.[/mks_two_thirds] [/mks_col]
IEEE-UFFC-S Singapore Student Chapter-Singapore.
[mks_col] [mks_one_third]Formed in November 2016.[/mks_one_third] [mks_two_thirds]Advisor, Professor Kui Yao and the student chapter Chair lead over 15 graduate student chapter members in various activities in Singapore. Student research topics include piezoelectric materials, acoustic manipulation devices, acoustic imaging and photoacoustic imaging as well as applications.[/mks_two_thirds] [/mks_col]
IEEE UFFC-S Student Chapter at Sogang University - South Korea.
[mks_col] [mks_one_third]Formed in August 2016.[/mks_one_third] [mks_two_thirds]Professor Jin-Ho Chang, student chapter advisor, and two other professors (Dr. Tai-Kyong Song, Dr. Yangmo Yoo) lead 19 graduate student chapter members. Research topics of members include exciting work on medical ultrasound imaging and therapeutic techniques such as high-performance ultrasound transducers and novel ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging systems. New digital signal and image processing algorithms to improve ultrasound and photoacoustic image quality are also key research foci.[/mks_two_thirds] [/mks_col]
