Newly Elected AdCom Members 2019

Four new members were elected to AdCom by the UFFC-S membership for two year terms (January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2020). Contact information can be found for all AdCom members on the IEEE UFFC web page presenting AdCom and Associates.

Michelle Dolgos (USA – Ferroelectrics)


Michelle Dolgos. Michelle joined the Department of Chemistry at Oregon State University as an Assistant Professor in September of 2013. While she has a wide variety of research interests, she focuses on understanding the structure-property relationships of ferroelectric and piezoelectric materials. She is also interested in innovation and entrepreneurism.
Marina Gertsvolf (Region 7 – Frequency Control)


Marina Gertsvolf. In 2009 M. Gertsvolf joined the Frequency and Time (F&T) group at the National Research Council (NRC) Canada to work on a variety of projects from Caesium Fountain development to frequency comb construction, and to timescale generation and maintenance as well as on calibrations and traceability. In 2016 M. Gertsvolf became the F&T group leader and has been leading the group and the development of the next generation frequency standards and dissemination services that meet and exceed current industry and society needs.
 

Alfred Yu (USA – Ultrasonics)


Alfred C. H. Yu (SM’99-M’07-SM’12). is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Canada and a Research Scientist at the Schlegel-UW Research Institute for Aging. He is also a member of the Waterloo Center for Bioengineering and Biotechnology, Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology, and Waterloo Center for Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence.
 

Lori Bridal (Region 8 – Ultrasonics)


Lori Bridal (M’92 – SM’08). Since 1997 she has been a research scientist in the French National Research Center (CNRS). She developed research centered on the use of high frequency ultrasound to characterize biological tissues (arteries, skin and tumors). Her research interests in biomedical ultrasound  include the study of ultrasound contrast agents, their acoustic destruction and use to assess microvascular blood flow.
