Networking and Mentorship Session 2 Workshop 3
On Sunday 27 February 2022, the UFFC-S Professional Networking and Mentoring Committee welcomed 20 participants to the third UFFC-S mentoring workshop – the third event in a program of workshops and panel discussions this term.
Vinay Roy, Chief Product Officer at Vista Global, shared how to drive business development with lessons from machine learning. “Intro to the Business of AI: Framing a Business Problem as a Machine Learning Problem” outlined the building blocks of a machine learning algorithm and revealed strategies used by Uber and Airbnb. Vinay closed by discussing “Growth Hacking Your Career”, useful tips and advice for how to get into data science and data management.

Join us on Saturday 26 March 2022 at 10:00 AM EDT (UTC -4:00), when we meet Dr. Diana Brecher – Clinical Psychologist and Scholar-in-Residence for Positive Psychology at Ryerson University – to discuss resilience. “Building Resilience: Evidence-Based Practices for Mentors and Mentees” will equip participants with strategies for tapping into our inner strengths and bouncing back. About the Program
The UFFC-S Professional Networking and Mentoring Program is now in its second term, welcoming a new cohort of participants from a variety of backgrounds. The program aims to broaden mentorship and networking experiences within our community. Participants in the program are matched based on career stage, technical area, and goals for the mentorship experience.
