New WIE Committee Member from Ferroelectrics
The IEEE UFFC Women in Engineering (WIE) Committee is happy to welcome a new member from Ferroelectrics.
IEEE UFFC WIE Committee, Ferroelectrics - Michelle Dolgos is an Assistant Professor at Oregon State University in the Department of Chemistry. She received her PhD in Chemistry at Ohio State University in 2009 where she studied structure-property relationships in complex oxides. She then held a position as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Liverpool in the UK for three years. There, she worked on the synthesis of novel ferroelectric and piezoelectric materials. Her current research focuses on understanding the structure-property relationships in ferroelectric and piezoelectric materials, with a focus on local structural studies. In addition to her research, she is a member of the SNS/HFIR User Group (SHUG) Executive Committee which acts as a liaison between the Neutron Scattering user community and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. She is also working to transform graduate education by developing a Research/Innovation/Leadership curricula that helps STEM students acquire the necessary skills needed to succeed in the 21st century work force.
Michelle will be joining the other members of the team to build WIE networking and event opportunities for the UFFC members.
