IEEE Sensors Council
Regrouping 26 IEEE member societies working together in the multi-disciplinary technical area of Sensors, the IEEE Sensors Council focuses on the theory, design, fabrication, manufacturing and application of devices for sensing and transducing physical, chemical, and biological phenomena. With an emphasis on the electronics, physics, and reliability aspects of sensors and integrated sensor-actuators, the Council sponsors well-recognized, international conferences and publications, which include the following:
Conferences:
The IEEE Sensors Council's flagship conference, IEEE SENSORS 2020 will be held virtually on October 25-28, 2020. It is intended to provide a forum for research scientists, engineers, and practitioners throughout the world to present their latest research findings, ideas, and applications in the area of sensors and sensing technology. For maximum savings, be sure to register before September 30, 2020.
The 2nd edition of the IEEE International Conference on Flexible and Printable Sensors and Systems (FLEPS 2020) will be held virtually from August 16-19, 2020. Visit the conference website to view the full conference program, and talk details for all the keynote speakers.
Save the Date: The 8th IEEE International Symposium on Inertial Sensors and Systems (INERTIAL) will be held on March 22-26, 2021 at the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay in Hawaii. The event will continue our annual tradition of informal single-track international meetings discussing the latest developments in the area of modern inertial sensors and emerging applications.
Publications:
The IEEE Sensors Journal is a peer-reviewed, semi-monthly online journal devoted to sensors and sensing phenomena. You can read the current issue of the Sensors Journal on IEEE Xplore, or contribute to one of our upcoming Special Issues.
IEEE Sensors Letters is an electronic journal dedicated to publishing short manuscripts, quickly, on the latest and most significant developments in the field of sensors. Read the current issue of the Sensors Journal on IEEE Xplore.
Activities:
Women in Sensors (WiSe) aims to globally promote the presence and advancement of persons who identify as women in the technical area and professions related to sensors. It is targeted for professional women in sensing technology, from industry or academia, and will provide the opportunity to create communities to facilitate knowledge sharing and provide support through highly interactive sessions designed to foster discussion and collaboration.
