Acoustiic Inc is a rapidly growing start up focused on the development of pre-symptomatic cancer therapy solutions using cutting edge ultrasound transducer technology. Headquartered in Bellevue, WA, we are currently hiring for several positions and are looking for applicants from a broad range of backgrounds with an interest in working across subject areas in a highly collaborative team. Under the direction of the VP Transducers and Acoustics, the Staff Transducer Engineer will act as technical lead for the research and development of the acoustic components of multiple transducer devices, collaborate with the process team, and be responsible for transducer stack development from initial concept through to transfer to manufacturing, as well as providing supervision and mentoring of junior engineers and technicians. Job duties will include design and simulation of current and novel transducer stacks, supervision and mentoring of junior engineers and technicians, stack optimization, material test, stack test and assistance with process development.

This position will require a significant portion of on-site activity at our Bellevue, WA, offices, though some hybrid work is negotiable.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design, simulation, build and test of prototype therapeutic and imaging transducers
• Act as a subject matter expert in the areas of transducer materials and stack design, including participating in design meetings, product development and contributing to company strategy and IP
• Provide supervision and technical guidance for other members of the acoustics and transducer teams in the area of transducer design and development
• Work as part of the overall engineering team to establish test protocols and update as required by evolving product and regulatory specifications
• Work with process and manufacturing teams to assure manufacturability of design and achieve successful design transfer
• Train technicians in the operation of test equipment and monitor adherence to test protocols
• Generate and maintain documentation on all aspects of the acoustic stack development process as well as contribute to systems requirements, specifications and verification and validation test development
• Other duties as directed by VP Transducers and Acoustics or Senior Management

Education and Related Experience:
• Bachelors/Masters in Engineering, Physics, Biomedical Devices or similar with ultrasound/acoustic focus or industrial experience in ultrasound transducer R&D
• Experience with commercial transducer design and manufacturing techniques through the full product cycle
• Experience with commercial transducer prototype development, debug, and test
• Experience with ultrasound transducer modelling packages such as PZFlex/OnScale
• Experience working in an FDA regulated design space

Desirable Skills and Abilities:
• Familiarity with IEC standards as applied to clinical and therapeutic ultrasound products
• Familiarity with Matlab, C/C++/C#, Python and/or similar software packages
• Experience with acoustic test equipment and measurement protocols
• Experience with therapeutic ultrasound
• Excellent written and oral communication skills (English)
• Ability to work independently as well as within a cross-disciplinary team

Salary Range and Benefits

$120,000 to $190,000 depending upon experience and qualifications
