IEEE UFFC Outstanding Reviewer Award

$200 and Certificate to each recipient. Annual. No more than 3 awards will be given each year.

Funded by the IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control Society.

Presented aperiodically at one of the UFFC-S sponsored symposia (i.e., IEEE Ultrasonics Symposium, IEEE Symposium on Application of Ferroelectrics, or IEEE Frequency Control Symposium). The choice of symposium for presentation will be determined by the UFFC-S Awards Chair in agreement with the recipient.

Established in 2023.

Selection will be done based on multiple criteria, including the number of manuscripts reviewed, timeliness in turnaround time, reviewer rating in the manuscript submission system, the number of declined review requests, the number of incomplete reviews, and evidence of peer review quality. Preference will be given to candidates who have a large number of completed manuscript reviews (with reduced workload expectations for new reviewers), a short turnaround time, a high reviewer rating, a low number of declined review requests, a low number of incomplete reviews, and sustained evidence of making professional and constructive remarks.

Active reviewers of the IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control who have undertaken more than 10 peer review tasks in the previous calendar year will be eligible. New reviewers, defined as those who only started reviewing for the IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control in the last two calendar years, will be considered eligible if they have completed more than 5 review tasks in the previous calendar year. Reviewers who frequently decline review requests (30% or more of all review invitations in the previous calendar year) or who are late in submitting reviews (30% or more of all review tasks in the previous calendar year) will not be eligible.
