Ajay K. Poddar received the degree from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, New Delhi, India, the Dr.-Ing. degree from Technical University Berlin, Germany, and the Dr.-Ing.habil. degree from Brandenburg Technical University, Cottbus, Germany. From 1991 to 2001, he was a Senior Scientist, responsible for many scientific research projects, including RADAR, guidance systems, and sensors for mine detection and under water communication. He is currently a Chief Scientist with Synergy Microwave; a Full Professor with Oradea University, Romania; a Guest Lecturer with Technical University Berlin; and an Academic Advisory Board Member of the Don Bosco Institute of Engineering, Mumbai, India. He has published over 250 scientific papers in journals and international conferences, and has authored/co-authored six technical books. He holds over four dozen patents. He has received over two dozen awards for technological innovations and meritorious services. He has received the 2009 IEEE Region 1 Award for outstanding leadership and contributions in the research, design, and development of microwave systems; the prestigious 2015 IFCS W.G. Cady Award in recognition of his outstanding scientific contributions on microwave signal sources; and the 2015 IEEE Region 1 Award for outstanding scientific contributions, leadership, and service. He has been serving as a MTT-S MGA Committee Member, the Chair of the IEEE SIGHT and Award Subcommittee, the Vice Chair of MTT-S S IGHT, the Chair of AP-S SIGHT, the Chair of the AP-S Chapters Activity Committee, and a member of many charitable organizations, namely, Red Cross, tsunami relief, and Blind. He has been involved actively in several IEEE committee meetings for over 15 years, such as the IEEE BoD, MTT-S AdCom, and AP-S AdCom meetings. He was an Associate Editor and Reviewer of many IEEE journals and magazines.(Based on document published on 3 January 2018).
