The Opportunity:
As a Senior Ultrasound Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our R&D and manufacturing operations, focusing on the development and production of ultrasound transducers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design, development, and optimization of ultrasound transducer manufacturing processes.
• Assemble and build transducer prototypes in initial feasibility and R&D project phases.
• Generate technical documentation (i.e., drawings, assembly instructions, etc.)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality Assurance, and Production to ensure seamless integration of new products into manufacturing.
• Conduct thorough troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve complex manufacturing issues related to transducer performance and reliability throughout the production lifecycle.
• Develop and implement robust testing methodologies and quality control measures to ensure product reliability and performance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
• Maintain records and files of all completed engineering work.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians to foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in in ultrasound transducer design, assembly, and manufacturing within a medical device or similar regulated industry.
• Proven track record of successfully leading projects from concept to production.
• Demonstrated proficiency in assembly techniques such as material bonding, dicing, and interconnection processes.
• Operational understanding of common bench test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, function generators, network analyzers).
• Expertise in SolidWorks CAD software.
• Proficient in MATLAB.
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for precise engineering design and manufacturing.
• Knowledge of manufacturing techniques such as machining, injection molding, and additive manufacturing.
• Proficiency in using measurement tools and equipment for precision measurement and quality control.
• Understanding of material science principles relevant to ultrasound transducer materials and their properties.
