My name is Martin Angerer and I am a PhD student in my third year at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany. My thesis encompasses the design, manufacturing and optimization of transducer arrays for 3D Ultrasound Computer Tomography (USCT). In 2015, I graduated from the University of Lübeck, Germany, with a degree in Medical Engineering Sciences. After graduation, I gained five years of work experience in the hearing implant industry. There, I developed and tested piezo-based fully implantable microphones. Driven by curiosity, in 2019 I returned to academia to gain a more profound knowledge in the field of piezo-driven transducers. Besides bulk-ceramics, I look also into micromachined transducer technologies (PMUTs, CMUTs), and evaluate them for their use in our USCT device. I am very excited to expand my professional knowledge and to increase my network on an international level.
