Jessica Liu Strohmann is a system engineering lead, an acoustic/ultrasonic technologist and an inventor. Dr. Strohmann holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder and is currently a Principal Engineer at Qualcomm Inc. Dr. Strohmann has extensive experience in novel acoustics/ultrasonic transducer, miniaturized system integration, micromachined imaging system, and piezoelectric/ferroelectric materials. She has been working in several high-tech companies in the Bay Area leading cutting-edge projects. Her work has been three times selected as the "Inventions of the Year" by "Popular Science" magazine and her designs have benefited billions of end users. Dr. Strohmann is an IEEE senior member, IEEE UFFC elected AdCom member, IUS Technical Program Committee (TPC) member and IEEE UFFC Transaction Associate Editor. Dr. Strohmann has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences. Her research has led to 50+ granted patents and another 110+ US and international patent applications. Her current research interests include emerging ultrasound imaging systems, MEMs-based transducers for industrial applications and numerical multi-physics modelling.
