I'm currently the UFFC-S representative to the IEEE Sensors Council (SC). In this role, I provide guidance to the SC to ensure it's serving the needs of the members of UFFC-S. Parts of my research focus on ultrasonic sensor develop for monitoring the evolution of materials microstructure during processing to ensure correct development of properties or during service to confirm material integrity. In my research group, we have worked on various advanced sensing approaches based on laser ultrasonic and photoacoustic schemes that can be used in extreme environments where traditional probes cannot be used easily.
