As Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on UFFC, I am proud and pleased to introduce Professor Alfred Yu, University of Waterloo, Canada, as our Editor-in-Chief Elect. Alfred's commitment to the UFFC Transactions is indisputable. Before becoming Editor-in-Chief Elect, he was Associate Editor-in-Chief from 2019 to 2020 and was Associate Editor from 2015 to 2019. Alfred has an impressive track record of contributions to the UFFC Society: he is the Past Chair of the Medical Ultrasound Group of the IEEE Ultrasonics Symposium, the initiator of our Ultrasonics topical school series, and an elected AdCom member. Furthermore, Alfred has made pioneering scientific contributions to ultrasound imaging and therapy. We deeply appreciate Alfred’s research achievements and his extensive contributions to the UFFC Society, and we look forward to his further contributions to the UFFC Transactions in the years to come. Alfred and I will work closely to ensure that the UFFC Transactions' future transition in leadership will be seamless and well prepared. This will be essential to ensure continuity in the UFFC Transactions' ongoing stride to raise the visibility of our journal. Our initial analysis of the UFFC Transactions' current leadership structure indicates that the creation of a formal Past Editor-in-Chief role will be beneficial. We will work towards this. In the meantime, I look forward to sharing my experience with Alfred and to collaborating with him as new initiatives are implemented to enhance the eminence and standing of the UFFC Transactions.
