Tutorial Sessions at IFAAP 2018

The IFAAP 2018 conference was preceded on Sunday, May 27^th by an intense tutorial day in which students could learn the fundamentals and applications of ferroelectrics from world-leading experts. Below is a list of tutorial lecturers and the titles of their presentations:

• Prof. Fatih Dogan (Missouri University of Science and Technology, USA): “Processing of Dielectric/Ferroelectric Materials for Capacitor Applications”.
• Prof. Andrew Bell (University of Leeds, UK): “Fundamentals of Ferroelectrics”.
• Prof. Susan Trolier-McKinstry (Pennsylvania State University, USA): “Applications of Ferroelectrics: Dielectrics, Piezoelectrics, and Energy Harvesting”.
• Prof. Doru Lupascu (University Duisburg-Essen, Germany): “Mechanics of Ferroelectrics: Basic Experiments and their Pitfalls”.
• Prof. Yang Shen (Tsinghua University, China): “Composite Dielectric Materials for Energy Storage: Fundamentals & Perspectives”.
• Prof. Chikako Moriyoshi (Hiroshima University, Japan): “Crystal Structure of Functional Materials by Synchrotron Radiation X-ray Diffraction”.
• Prof. Yuji Noguchi (University of Tokyo, Japan): “Fabrication and Characterization of Ferroelectric Oxides, Including Bulk and Film Forms”. -Prof. Brian Huey (University of Connecticut, USA): “PFM for Mapping Piezoelectric Properties and Ferroelectric Domain Dynamics”.
