[mks_one_half]The IEEE-UFFC Student Branch Chapter at Simon Fraser University (SFU) was founded at the end of 2018 and is led by Cindy Wu, the elected Chairperson. Prof. Zuo-Guang Ye is the Student Branch Chapter’s advisor, and Dr. W. Craig Scratchley is the Student Branch’s counselor. The purpose of this student chapter is to serve local students with interest in ferroelectrics and provide a gateway for students to be involved in the IEEE ferroelectric community. [/mks_one_half]

The research interests of our current members are primarily focusing on the materials in perovskite structure with ferroelectric related properties. It includes synthesis and characterization of the structure and physical properties of ferroic materials, including (i) high-performance relaxor-based piezoelectric single crystals, (ii) single crystals of lead zirconate/titanate (PZT), (iii) relaxor ferroelectrics, (iv) multiferroics, (v) lead-free piezo-/ferroelectric materials, and (vi) organic/inorganic halide perovskite materials. The future plans of this student branch chapter are organizing research seminars in the UFFC field, social gatherings for people with similar interests and industry-related events such as visiting local institutions. We wish to build a vibrant environment for our members.

IEEE UFFC New Student Chapter at Georgia Institute of Technology

The IEEE-UFFC Student Chapter at Georgia Institute of Technology (GIT) was founded at the end of 2018. Dr. Costas D. Arvanitis is the advisor, Dr. Elliot Moore is Branch Councilor. Yutong Guo is the Chair for the student chapter. The aim is to create a vibrant student chapter to facilitate the interaction of students and laboratories within the Georgia Tech ultrasonics, ferroelectrics and frequency control community. The chapter plans to organize research siminars within the UFFC field, social gatherings to share common professional interests and industry-related events.
