The IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control Society (UFFC-S) is proud to announce that Mark Schafer, Immediate Past President of UFFC, has been elected IEEE Division II Director-Elect.

Mark has served the UFFC community for many years, contributing thoughtful leadership, strategic vision, and sustained dedication to advancing the science and engineering represented by our Society. His election to this new role is a testament to his commitment to volunteer service and to the active engagement of UFFC members across Division II.

“I would like to express my deep gratitude to all UFFC members who took the time to vote in the IEEE elections. With your support, I was elected as Division II Director Elect by the slimmest of margins. UFFC is one of the smaller societies within Division II, so the participation of our members was critical. I am deeply grateful for the over 1800 votes I received. Thank you again for all your support, and I pledge to continue serving our community, as well as the rest of Division II, to the best of my abilities.”

We congratulate Mark on this well-deserved honor and look forward to his continuing leadership and contributions within IEEE.
