Given the very positive response and strong participation in the IEEE UFFC-S International Ultrasonics Symposium (IUS) 2016 challenge on plane wave imaging  (PICMUS ), a new challenge on synthetic aperture (SA) 2-D vector flow imaging (VFI) has been set-up and is currently open. The challenge is to estimate blood flow velocities from both simulated and measured ultrasound RF-element data sets. The SA-VFI challenge is deployed using a similar web platform as was used for the PICMUS challenge. Best results will be presented during the next IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium 2018 in Kobe (Japan). All information can be found here and at the challenge platform link. Participants must register on the platform and submit an abstract through the IEEE IUS submission platform no later than May 4, 2018, 11:59 p.m., PT.

The SA-VFI Challenge 2018 challenge team:
