The 2017 Rayleigh Award was won by Dr Matt O’Donnell, University of Washington, WA, USA, for seminal contributions to biomedical ultrasonics and real-time ultrasound imaging technologies.

The 2017 Carl Helmuth Hertz Award went to Prof. Tanter, Institut Langevin ESPCI Paris, France, for introducing multiple, ground breaking new medical ultrasound imaging technologies that have not only impacted academics but also industry.

The 2017 Early Career Investigator Award went to Dr Olivier Couture, CNRS, Institut Langevin ESPCI Paris, for outstanding contributions to plane wave techniques for contrast visualization and for the development of super-resolution ultrasound.
