IEEE Distinguished Lecturer Visit to Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology

IEEE UFFC Distinguished Lecturer, Professor Katherine W. Ferrara from the University of California, Davis was invited by the supervisor for the Shenzhen Chapter, Professor Hairong Zheng, to visit the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (SIAT), Chinese Academy of Sciences. On November 8th, 2017, Professor Ferrara presented a seminar on advanced medical ultrasound technology titled, "Imaging in Support of Focal Interventions”. Approximately 300 researchers and students from Shenzhen Chapter from the SIAT and Shenzhen University attended the seminar on-site. Moreover, live broadcast to the internet was introduced so that approximately 5000 people were able to listen to the seminar live!

The 11th Shenzhen Symposium of Biomedical and Health Engineering

The Shenzhen Biomedical and Health Engineering Academic Annual Symposium was held from January 5 to 6, 2018. The symposium aims to integrate biomedical engineering related fields, focus on front-end technology, share information, deepen cooperation, promote academic exchanges and promote the development of health-engineering disciplines. The major themes this year were "Medical Imaging", "Medical Robotics and Rehabilitation Technology", "Intelligent Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering" and "Biosensing and Health Technology."
