Ferroelectrics Committee Meeting Updates:

The first Ferroelectrics Committee meeting of this year took place on 19 January associated to the Electronic Materials and Applications (EMA) conference. About 45 members from all over the globe – including the UFFC-S President Mark Schafer and UFFC-S President-Elect Dragan Damjanovic - took part in this virtual meeting, which was the first led by our new Vice President Shujun Zhang (University of Wollongong, Australia). We are pleased to welcome the new FerroCom members:

  • Hana Uršič Nemevšek (Jožef Stefan Institute, Slovenia)
  • Michele Conroy (Imperial college London, UK)
  • Fei Li (Xi’an Jiaotong University, China)
  • Rattikorn Yimnirun (Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology, Thailand)

Michele Conroy took on the role as FerroCom secretary, replacing Jon Ihlefeld after many years of service in this position. We thank Jon a lot for his contributions as secretary and are happy that continues to contribute to the FerroCom in the role of Deputy Vice President. 

The ISAF conference 2022 is approaching fast. This year it takes place in Tours, France, in conjunction with PFM and ECAPD. The abstract deadline has already passed, but it is still possible to sign up for the associated FerroSchool in Lyon. In the FerroCom meeting potential topics and speakers for the Women in Engineering (WiE) event on the ISAF were discussed, as well as the possibilities to promote the new Open Journal of the UFFC.
