The IFAAP 2018 conference was preceded on Sunday, May 27th by an intense tutorial day in which students could learn the fundamentals and applications of ferroelectrics from world-leading experts. Below is a list of tutorial lecturers and the titles of their presentations:

-Prof. Yang Shen (Tsinghua University, China): “Composite Dielectric Materials for Energy Storage: Fundamentals & Perspectives”.
-Prof. Chikako Moriyoshi (Hiroshima University, Japan): “Crystal Structure of Functional Materials by Synchrotron Radiation X-ray Diffraction”.
-Prof. Yuji Noguchi (University of Tokyo, Japan): “Fabrication and Characterization of Ferroelectric Oxides, Including Bulk and Film Forms”.
-Prof. Brian Huey (University of Connecticut, USA): “PFM for Mapping Piezoelectric Properties and Ferroelectric Domain Dynamics”.
