AerWave Medical is developing a novel ultrasound denervation approach (vis a vis RF ablation in main bronchi) holding promise for a shorter, more efficacious, and safer clinical lung denervation procedure to treat Asthma and COPD.

Job Summary:
The Senior Acoustic Engineer will be responsible for the therapeutic ultrasound catheter design.
The Senior Acoustic Engineer will work closely with other R&D and Mfg. engineers to ensure
catheter performance.

  • Experienced in medical ultrasound applications, preferably, therapeutic ultrasound applications

You Will:

  • Design and support proof of concept of ultrasound denervation catheters
  • Execute simulations and testing to help verify designs
  • Work with other team members to conduct pre-clinical in-vitro and in-vivo experiments
  • Interface with manufacturing engineers in the design and validation of test equipment
  • Review designs and document to ensure compliance with design criteria and standards 
  • Support and/or lead IEC 60601-1 EMC and Safety testing for compliance with medical device
  • requirements


  • Master’s degree and several years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of ultrasound R&D environments like hydrophone and total acoustic output
  • measurement set ups
  • Ability to simulate and test acoustic performance

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with RF engineering
  • Experience with board-level design of electronic circuitry
  • Experience with microcontrollers
  • Experience in digital and analog circuitry design
  • Experience working in a startup environment

Travel required

  • Travel required, less than 10% of time
