Welcome to the web site of IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control Society’s Education Committee!

The Education Committee (EdCom) of the UFFC has been chartered in year 2003. The mission of the EdCom is to promote the science and technology of Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control between undergraduate and graduate students in the allied engineering and physical sciences. The Committee reports directly to the President of UFFC.

Specific objectives of the EdCom can be summarized as:

  1. To expose students to the Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control Society early in their careers.
  2. To provide students a forum to interact with seniors scientists and engineers in academe and industry.
  3. To promote web-based education.
  4. To provide students with career information.
  5. To improve communication among students.

The EdCom’s broad field-of-interest includes, but is not limited to, modern educational methods and technology, teaching materials, history of the science and engineering pertinent to UFFC, to name a few.

Learning Resources

The UFFC has an array of educational materials (e.g., review papers, software, links) in all three areas of research; namely Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control. These educational materials have been provided by experts in their respective fields, and as such provide an invaluable resource to students for self-study. The UFFC EdCom is committed to expand these educational resources in the immediate future. Therefore, please check the pertinent web pages often!
